When you buy a new pair of shoes, you should always coat it in “water proofing spray”. Give it one coat, let it dry and then do it again.
This will ensure your shoes lasts a lot longer and cleaner.
I collect sneakers, and have over 30 pairs, but I do it with all of them as soon as I buy a pair. I have many I wear a few times a week and they have lasted me several years without turning dirty or damaged badly.
